What is Home?

What is Home? Home isn’t just somewhere to sleep, eat or live; It’s somewhere to be yourself. It’s somewhere to be angry, It’s somewhere to be sad, And in the end, Somewhere to be loved. Home is a place where we're accepted, A place where we can be ourselves. A place where we can laugh, shout, and cry, While feeling calm and safe. Home is different for many people; It can be a soccer field where the turf is always green, Or the frigid ice rink where the lines are always marked. It can be the leafy forest where the soil is soft and moist, Or the sprawling ocean where the waves are gentle and salty. It can be our school where we can see our friends and teachers, Or the tranquil library where there are shelves filled up with books. It can be the park where there are twisting slides and high-up swings, Or the speedy airplanes crossing the vast sky, travelling the world. It can even be a bed or a desk, as long as you can feel safe. Home is where we can slip into our dreams happily, Where we can awake with lots of enthusiasm, Where we can go to school with a bright smile, Where we can return every day skipping and dancing. Home is somewhere we can be safe, Be cozy, Be funny, Be loved, And be ourselves.
