Home is Safe

Home means many different things to different people but for me home is my safe space. My life was built in my home and so was my family. We have had all of our heartfelt conversations at dinner, loud games, crazy family gatherings, and even our goofy dance parties. To me home is where you would want to go when you get hurt or someone makes fun of you. To you, you might think home is just the place you live but in my brain it's way more than that. All of my memories were invented there, the good and the bad ones. Even if I can't see that physically I can see it mentally. I always wondered why there were two names for a building you live in (house and home). Now that I am at least a bit more grown up, I can see that they are way different. A house is just a building or structure we live in but home on the other hand is way different, at least for me. Home is love, happiness, and joy. My home has my mom, dad, sister, brother, my kitties, and my dog. We also have our chickens. Me and my family have traditions that make us happy like making peanut butter balls every Christmas and we make paska every Easter. Although my favorite is my grandma's famous jello! I hope to carry that throughout my life. I hope you have a home with as many traditions as mine. When I come home from a hard day at school or skating, my home is the place to be. I go to my room to feel better about myself. I always clean my room or bake a new type of cookie or muffin. I even add crazy spices.
