Memory lane

Home means a warm cozy place you can always come back to. It's a safe place you can always rely on. In my home the smell of laundry detergent lingers. Whenever I smell that familiar scent I think of home. It’s a place where memories are made, it's also a place you can learn other life lessons, or just learn in general. Home is a place where you can be yourself without being made fun of. There are certain things that will always be there for you, when you're at your lowest, your pillow will always be there to catch your tears, your blanket will always be there to give you a warm hug when no one else can. Your bed will always be there to hold you even when you grow old enough that your parents can't carry you anymore. It will always be there for you to lean on. Memories are like flashbacks. Not the kind of memories like when you need to remember something. Instead the kind of memories where you’ve spent it with the people you love most. All memories probably are forgotten at one point, but they come back too. It's either you can hardly remember the details of it, or it's like you can remember it so clearly, you’re taken back to the exact same memory, and you're re-living the moment. It's such a good feeling, except when it's a bad memory. When you think of it, it just replays in your head, again and again. Bad memories are meant to be forgotten. When you make memories with your family, or your friends that are basically family, you’d think “I’ll never forget it.” and it's true. At some point it could have left your head, but it stays in your heart.
