If Home Were a Fortress

If home was a fortress, it would be a safe, stronghold full of happy memories. All the photos on the walls are like different points in my life. But everyone has walls even in real life. A home is like a fortress; but not everyone has that fortress. They are left vulnerable. Habitat for Humanity is helping the vulnerable Canadians find their safe fortress. There are many that suffer of homelessness in Canada, let alone the entire globe. Many lack owning a fortress and need help. I am very grateful I have my own safe fortress to live in; my home is full of happy memories that make me feel happy and lucky. It was built in the fifties and got re-done. My kitchen is still an ugly seventy-year-old room full of tools and painted plywood counters. The only thing that got re-done there was the flooring but that's fine. At my fortress I have my own workshop shared with my dad. When I'm there I feel like I'm in a giant factory that will make anything. Everyone deserves that feeling, and a big fortress to go with it. In a house, every room is like a new life to explore. A home can be any shape, any size, anywhere. It can be the side of a ditch, a small shelter, a house, or even an actual fortress.
