The Meaning of Home

What is the meaning of home, you ask? Some people would say that the meaning of home obviously refers to a 2-3 story house with a roof on top that has bedrooms, closets and more furniture. However, I completely disagree! I believe that’s the meaning of a house not the meaning of home. In my opinion, the meaning of home is being surrounded by people you love, spending time with them, and feeling safe, supported, and accepted for who you are. It's where memories are made, and where you can happily be yourself without any judgment. Whether you are at a park, a forest, a beach, or even just out there on the streets, it doesn’t matter where you are. What matters is that you are with people you love, people who are always there through the good and the bad, and people who are kind to you. If you are surrounded by people who judge you, who don’t lift you up when you are down, or who don’t help you when you’re going through a tough time, then you’re not in your true, most comfortable, and welcoming home. You need to find your own home, a place where people lift you up, help you, and make you laugh. That is the meaning of home!
